2023 Skin Resolutions – What are your resolutions for the new year? It’s easy to get swept up in the whole ‘new year, new you’ mindset, but often the smallest goals and intentions are the easiest to achieve. So, why not make 2023 the year you achieve your skin goals?

Women Talking looks at 3 New Year’s Skin Resolutions that’ll get your year off to a glowing start (quite literally).

2023 Skin Resolutions

Strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier

Stronger skin leads to healthier skin. Your skin’s moisture barrier helps to hold on to all the goodness in your skin and protect against daily aggressors, so when it’s damaged, it can leave your skin feeling dry and looking dull. Clinique’s iconic Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+ is formulated with natural moisturising factors (NMF) and natural extracts of sunflower seed, barley and cucumber to help nourish your skin and strengthen the moisture barrier, without every feeling heavy and greasy. Consider it strength training for your skin.

Having used this product for several weeks now, I am certainly happy with the result. Quick and simple to apply, it absorbs easily, leaving no surface residue, making the perfect base for my morning routine.

I have also enjoyed using the Smart Clinical Repair Moisturising Cream, formulated for all skin types. This is a moisturiser for wrinkles, which helps strengthen and nourish the skin for smoother, younger-lookingappearance, engineered to visibly reduce lines and wrinkles for supple, younger-looking skin.

Their cutting-edge formula with CL1870 Peptide Complex™ helps boost skin’s natural collagen to help fortify the dermal structure, leaving skin feeling stronger and looking smootheras well as plumping the skin with lasting hydration.

Embrace skin cycling

More than just a TikTok trend, Skin Cycling is actually a really sensible and effective way to approach active ingredients – particularly if you’re new to actives or have sensitive skin. Just like a great fitness regime requires a couple of rest days a week, so does your skincare routine. Skin cycling is generally a four-night rotation – two nights of actives, typically one night of chemical exfoliation with AHAs, PHAs and BHAS (all found in Clinique’s Clarifying Do-Over Peel), then a night for retinoids, followed by two days of R&R with a gentle, nourishing routine. Then repeat. With consistency, you’ll start to see the benefits of the actives, without damaging the skin’s barrier.

Look after your skin from the inside out

This one goes without saying, but if you’re on a new year health kick, or simply cutting back on the indulgence of the holidays, your skin will reap the benefits too. Make sure you get lots of fruit at veg with every meal to ensure you’re getting all necessary vitamins – oranges, broccoli and blueberries are all sources of vitamin C which helps promote radiant skin and can also help boost immunity.  Healthy fats – think avocado, oily fish, nuts, and seeds – are full of omega 3 and vitamin E which help nourish skin and ease inflammation. Finally, drink lots and lots of water – even slight dehydration can make your skin look dull and tired. Aim for six to eight glasses a day, which can include herbal teas too..
