For the Love of Fragrance – I, like many have a deep connection to a variety of fragrances. The world of fragrances is vast and diverse. You can enjoy exploring different scent families, notes, and combinations. It’s like discovering a whole new world of aromas and emotions.
It’s important to note that the reasons for buying and wearing perfume can vary widely from person to person, and some individuals might prioritise certain reasons more than others. Whether it’s for self-expression, confidence, or simply the pleasure of smelling good, perfume serves a variety of roles in people’s lives.
Personally, I often seek out scents that remind me of special moments or places from the past as fragrances have the power to trigger memories and evoke emotions.
When faced with the dilemma of selecting a new perfume, this can be more problematic than hoped as there is such a huge selection available to choose from. The fragrance industry is dynamic, with new scents being released regularly.
Our friends at Phoenix Beauty introduced me to a selection of amazing fragrances, many with unique stories behind them. Confirming to me that fragrances are undoubtedly recognised as a form of art. Perfumers craft complex blends of various notes to create unique scents. Just like art, fragrance creation involves creativity, skill, and a sense of aesthetics.
Although the fragrance selection was all inspiring a couple caught my attention:
Obvious Perfumes
From the French fragrance house owned by David Frossard, which champions both luxury and the planet and puts inner well-being at the forefront of everything they do …
Obvious is a fragrance line Inspired by what nature has to offer, they have created elegant and modern fragrances that are simple, sophisticated, and respectful.
Their attention to detail is second to none and their skill to combine the right combination of ingredients has created a balance that is both refined, unique, and original.

Laboratorio Olfattivo
The story of Laboratorio Olfattivo is a story of a project born in 2009 from Daniela Caon and Roberto Drago’s love for niche perfumes. A collection composed by 23 Eau de Parfum, comprehensive of Nerotic, Vanhera, Sacreste and Nerosa, belonging to the Laboratorio in Nero collection and of the Masters’ Collection, created by the perfumers Jean-Claude Ellena and Lucien Ferrero.
From their selection, we tried POMPELMO EDP
This Italian brand prides itself on working with the most renowned perfumers in the world, Pompelmo was created by Master Perfumer Jean Claude Ellena …
Inspired by his love for Italy, he has created a collection of Parfum Cologne, which are portraits of Italian happiness. With notes of mandarin, Lemon, Bergamotto, Arancia Rossa and Pompelmo are the fragrances of the collection “Viaggio in Italia”, a journey to Italy, fragrances that are like sunshine in winter.
Pompelmo took Jean-Claude Ellena on a journey inspired by Italian Citruses. Born in Asia, the citruses were considered a sacred fruit to be offered to Gods. Grapefruit, like most citrus fruits, first appeared in Spain, in Seville, around the XII-XIII century during the Arab domination.
Probably, one of the greatest citruses, he particularly appreciates Grapefruit for its bitter flavour, which in his opinion, represents one of the brightest scents., which makes Pompelmo a unique and different fragrance.
Top notes: Italian grapefruit
Heart notes: Pink pepper, lentisk
Base notes: Patchouli and vetiver

For individuals who have a love for fragrances, it’s not just about wearing a pleasant scent—it’s a way of connecting with their senses, emotions, and the world around them. The intricate dance of aromatic molecules can evoke deep feelings, and memories, and even inspire creative expression.
