Brighten up Winter Nights looking at Vibrant Lights

Brighten up Winter Nights by looking at Vibrant Lights

Brighten up Winter Nights by looking at Vibrant Lights – There are many things synonymous with winter, the cold, the rain, Christmas, Halloween, and the darker mornings and nights. But it’s not all doom and gloom, as the weather can be used to our advantage. Yes, it really can. Here are some of the best winter light events around the UK for you to brighten up your evenings.

Bright Lights

Outdoor light installations have become increasingly popular as the years have gone by. There’s a wonderful winter light trail and trees adorned in different colours as you walk along it. With the odd stall providing hot chocolate and food, you’ll be warmed along the way.

If you’re further afield, there’s also a fantastic winter wonder on display at Edinburgh Botanical Garden providing the same experience. Alternatively, enchanted Christmas at Westonbirt even has mischievous elves for those with young children, if you’re after that extra Christmassy feel.

Glow Wild in West Sussex is back for its ninth year, this winter, bringing Haywards Heath to life in colour, light installations, projections, and hand-crafted lanterns. It looks at how colour plays an important role in our life.

Why are bright lights so appealing?

Lights can trigger dopamine in our brains, which makes us feel good and brings us feelings of happiness. This explains why Christmas lights bring many of us so much joy. Colours and even their hues can provide different emotions, making people feel generally positive when they see large-scale light installations, like the ones we’ve just mentioned.

There’s also nostalgia added to this, as Christmas lights can remind people of happy memories. These don’t always have to be connected to Christmas and can include childhood memories or even a special occasion. But looking at lights isn’t for everybody, just as doing an outside activity in the winter isn’t.

Other things to do

So, if being outside in these colder months isn’t for you, but you still want to go out and do something, have you thought about playing bingo? If you’ve ever thought, ‘I’d like to find bingo near me‘, you’re bound to find a local bingo hall near to you if you go online to find out. With many places providing food and parking, when you add bingo to the mix, you’re all set.

There are also plenty of shows by popular comedians or celebrities to keep you entertained. Some shows even have a variety of stars performing, keeping acts different with a mix of music and performance. They may even provide refreshments, which are worth finding out beforehand if that’s what you want, so you can do everything in one place.

Winter nights often lead to duvet days or snuggling up on your sofa, but it doesn’t always have to be like this. Although the colder weather may mean you’re restricted from doing things you’d do in the warmer seasons, there are other things you can do to make the most of the winter. We reckon vibrant lights will brighten up even the darkest of days. You just need to find the one that appeals to you.
