Staying in Touch with Nature

Skiing is an extremely popular winter pastime

Staying in Touch with Nature – There are many types of holidays that allow you to experience natural beauty. To connect to the wilderness, the trees, or the magnificence of an environment. This could range from walking to hiking trips, climbing, driving, or even sailing vacations to name just a few. However, an unforgettable experience that remains high on my list of natural beauty is skiing.

The captivating landscapes at ski resorts and in the wild mountains are incredibly beautiful and being surrounded by this winter wonderland will create memories that you will treasure for the rest of your life.

Skiing is an extremely popular winter pastime, so if a ski trip is on the cards in 2023, Women Talking recommends, Les Arcs skiing area nestled in the heart of the Alps, which is access to Paradiski, the second largest ski area in the world, linking three Alpine ski resorts (Les Arcs, Peisey-Vallandry and La Plagne).

This is a vast skiing area, at the gateway to the Vanoise National Park with 53,000 hectares of protected nature and natural beauty with modern infrastructures, fast and comfortable lifts, and a variety of areas for all styles and skiing levels.

For those of you who are not so able or for the new generation who would like to discover and enjoy the pleasures of skiing, the Les Arcs ski area has been developed to provide easy and fun runs.

Les Arcs weather and snow conditions can be monitored live from the village on their webcams, giving you a sneak peak ahead of your vacation before you depart.

A healthy Pastime

  • Whilst on the slopes, not only do you can appreciate the clean fresh air, but it can also feel incredibly peaceful, where you can just enjoy the cold wind in your face and get lost in your thoughts. Although you are surrounded by snow, the pure white snow reflects the sun and makes you feel warm, comfortable and at ease.
  • Not only benefit from increased vitamin D intake being outdoors all day (thus counteracting depression and seasonal mood disorders), but the ‘feel good’ chemicals in your body – endorphins and adrenaline – are heightened when doing an activity like skiing.
  • An obvious benefit of skiing is that it is a serious workout in disguise and is way more fun than being in the gym. On the slopes you will quite literally be using muscles differently and in a new way—that’s a good thing. Not only will skiing make you physically stronger but mentally stronger too.
