Finding Happiness in Colour

Finding Happiness in Colour

Finding Happiness in Colour – Having always been passionate about colour, it came as no surprise that I was gripped by each and every page whilst reading the book Hello Rainbow by the author Momtaz Begum-Hossain

It is an uplifting, mood-boosting book that promotes the joy of colour taking the reader on a vibrant journey through the rainbow spectrum inspired by the therapeutic benefits of colour therapy.

Colour therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is a form of therapy that uses colour and light to treat certain mental and physical health conditions. Like many holistic treatments, it can be historically traced back in history, to the ancient Egyptians, who made use of sun-filled rooms with coloured glasses for therapeutic purposes.

Colour therapists believe that the seven colours of the rainbow relate to the body’s seven main chakras or energy centres of the body. Depending on your mood and physical health, the colour therapist will use specific colours to treat the afflicted parts of your body.

Finding Happiness in ColourHello Rainbow explains the principles of colour therapy combined with a new colour theory created by the author and colour therapy expert. Hello Hue, is a seven-point manifesto for how to use colour to boost your mood and your mental well-being.

This vibrantly illustrated book of joy contains the following information:

Introduces you to the therapeutic healing benefits of colour theory such as colour breathing and making solar-charged water, alongside fascinating facts.

Shows you how colour can be experienced in different aspects of life such as food, nature, travel, interiors, and fashion.

Celebrates how colour brings the community together like rainbows becoming an LGBTQ+ symbol and colourful festivals that take place around the world.

Gives you practical Rainbow Rituals so you can harness the benefits of colour, with prompts and exercises like going on explorative Rainbow Hunting adventures.

Encourages you to play with colour by trying mindful crafts techniques such as painting and sewing, making your creativity thrive.

As the author mentions, every book is a journey and should involve relaxing whilst reading. To get the most out of the book it can be used in many ways, to flick through, to just enjoy the colourful images giving you an energy boost, as a reference book or as a practical exercise book giving you the chance to pause, reflect and make note of what you have read.

Whether you’re a colour lover like myself or colour cautious, you will gain a renewed confidence and zest for life, you’ll feel good about yourself, and your positive energy will be infectious to others.

A powerful and life-changing read, Hello Rainbow is sparking a resurgence in colour therapy, a non-invasive, harmless, accessible therapy that everyone can embrace and benefit from.
