Gardening Inspiration at the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair – Gardening gloves at the ready – the BBC Gardeners’ World Spring Fair returns to the beautiful grounds of Beaulieu from 1–3 May, offering a vibrant celebration of spring for gardeners of all abilities.
Set in the heart of the New Forest, the three-day event brings together gardening inspiration, expert advice, specialist plants, delicious food and live music. Visitors can also enjoy access to Beaulieu’s many attractions, including the National Motor Museum, Palace House and the historic abbey.
One of the highlights this year will be the immersive garden experience created by Hillier Nurseries, featuring a collection of themed spaces including a Family Garden, Cottage Garden, Potted Garden and Urban Jungle – all packed with ideas visitors can recreate at home.
There will also be plenty of inspiration for those who enjoy growing their own. De-Graft Mensah, presenter of BBC Newsround, will join gardener and writer Lucy Chamberlain to create a Beautiful Border inspired by the Make a Metre Matter campaign, encouraging gardeners to dedicate even a small space to wildlife and biodiversity.
Throughout the weekend, visitors can hear from familiar faces from BBC Gardeners’ World, including Adam Frost, Frances Tophill, Ashley Edwards and Sue Kent, sharing seasonal advice and practical gardening tips on the BBC Gardeners’ World Magazine Stage.
Plants remain the true stars of the fair, with showcase gardens, imaginative Beautiful Borders and displays from specialist nurseries. Visitors can also explore tours of Beaulieu’s Victorian Walled Kitchen Garden and Flower Garden, led by plant experts including Asa Gregers-Warg from Beth Chatto Gardens.
Alongside the horticulture, there will be plenty to enjoy for food lovers too. The Good Food Market offers artisan producers and street food, while tasting sessions at the Spring Table will showcase wines, spirits and local flavours from the New Forest.
Creative garden displays will include the Showcase Garden Nature’s Spa by Hampshire designer Vicky Lincoln, inspired by the poetry of William Wordsworth, designed as a tranquil space to reconnect with nature.
With garden shopping, expert talks, workshops, student garden competitions and family activities, the Spring Fair offers a relaxed and inspiring day out for garden lovers.
