Discovering Zero-Proof Cocktails at The Ivy Asia

Dry January, Done Differently: Discovering Zero-Proof Cocktails at The Ivy Asia.

Dry January can feel like a bit of a mixed bag. For some, it’s a welcome reset after the indulgence of December; for others, it’s a challenge that highlights just how much our social lives are still built around alcohol. This year, I’m giving Dry January a go myself, and it’s been a reminder of how important it is to still feel included when you’re not drinking.

Dry January, Done Differently

That’s why it’s refreshing to see venues doing non-alcoholic drinking properly – not as an afterthought, but as a genuine, year-round offering. The Ivy Asia is one of those places getting it right, with a thoughtfully curated range of zero-percent and alcohol-free drinks that feel just as special as their classic cocktails.

What I particularly love is that this isn’t just about January. Whether you’re alcohol-free by choice, pregnant, driving, or simply fancy something lighter, having exciting options on the menu all year round makes a huge difference. There’s something quietly empowering about ordering a beautiful, well-crafted drink and not feeling like you’re missing out.

Dry January, Done Differently

The Ivy Asia’s Dry January highlights are vibrant, layered and playful – very much in keeping with the restaurant’s theatrical style. The Rose of the Orient, with lychee, rose, raspberry and orange blossom soda, is floral and delicate without being overly sweet, while the Dreams of Cherry Blossom, made with Tanqueray 0.0%, cherry blossom, grape juice and lychee, feels indulgent and celebratory despite being alcohol-free.

For those who enjoy something a little bolder, the Cherry Lemonade combines Seedlip Spice 94 with cherry chu lo soda, vanilla and passion fruit cordial, delivering warmth and depth that proves zero-proof doesn’t mean zero flavour. Meanwhile, the Wild Marquees, blending blackcurrant, elderflower cordial and Wild Idol non-alcoholic sparkling wine, is a great choice if you’re after something refreshing with a sense of occasion.

Classic cocktail lovers aren’t left out either. The Apple and Kiwi Virgin Mojito is crisp and energising, with apple juice, kiwi extract, mint and soda, making it ideal for those who usually gravitate towards fresher flavours. And if bubbles are non-negotiable, Wild Idol Naturally Alcohol-Free Sparkling Wine offers a grown-up fizz, while Asahi Super Dry 0% delivers the same crisp, refreshing taste as the original.

Dry January doesn’t have to mean dull January. Experiences like this show how the conversation around alcohol is changing – and how hospitality is beginning to reflect the many different ways people choose to drink, or not drink. Feeling included, having choice, and being able to enjoy something delicious in a beautiful setting shouldn’t depend on what’s in your glass.

Whether you’re fully committed to Dry January or just rethinking your relationship with alcohol, The Ivy Asia proves that zero-percent can still feel like a treat – and that’s something worth celebrating well beyond January.
