Cleopatra: The Experience Arrives in London — And It’s One We’re Already Excited About.
There is something rather special about stepping into an experience that both educates and inspires — the kind you leave feeling you’ve travelled through time while learning something new along the way. At Women Talking, we have always loved exhibitions that bring history to life, particularly when they make culture accessible for families, curious minds and lifelong learners alike.

Opening on 26th March 2026 at Immerse LDN, Excel London Waterfront, Cleopatra: The Experience promises exactly that — and we suspect it will be one of London’s most talked-about cultural highlights this spring.
Running for a strictly limited 15 weeks, this ambitious immersive exhibition invites visitors to discover the secrets of Egypt’s last queen — her legacy, legend, love, lifestyle and beauty — through an impressive blend of original artefacts and cutting-edge technology.
Spanning an incredible 3,000 square metres and featuring nine interactive galleries, the experience has been developed alongside historical curators and Egyptologists, with the endorsement of renowned British Egyptologist Dr. Chris Naunton. The result is a journey into the ancient world that feels both scholarly and spectacular.
From the moment visitors enter through a symbolic “setting sun” — representing the end of Ancient Egypt with Cleopatra as its final ruler — the storytelling begins. A holographic presentation charts the rise of the Ptolemaic Dynasty, from Alexander the Great to Cleopatra herself, providing fascinating context to one of history’s most powerful and complex women.

What makes this exhibition particularly appealing is its use of technology to deepen understanding rather than distract from it. A 360-degree projection room, holograms, seated virtual reality, interactive installations and even a free-roaming metaverse walkthrough allow guests to witness defining moments in history in a way that feels vivid and immediate.
Imagine exploring the catacombs of Alexandria, stepping inside Mark Antony’s tent during the Battle of Actium, or entering Cleopatra’s royal chamber as she gazes across the bay towards the legendary lighthouse — all without leaving London.
Alongside the digital wizardry sits something equally compelling: a curated collection of more than 22 original artefacts from the Hellenistic and Late Egyptian periods, presented in collaboration with the Felix Cervera Archaeology Gallery in Barcelona. Expect terracotta sculptures, bronze figures of Isis and Osiris, intricate glass mosaics, cosmetic vessels and even previously unpublished demotic papyri — tangible reminders of a civilisation that continues to captivate us thousands of years later.

One of the spaces we are particularly intrigued by is Cleopatra’s private chamber, inspired by royal palaces and designed to evoke the grandeur of her world. Interactive mirrors reveal the secrets behind her iconic beauty rituals and hairstyles — a lovely reminder that conversations around beauty and identity have always been part of women’s stories.
Visitors can then explore the remarkable city of Alexandria via a vast interactive map enhanced with atmospheric scents before experiencing a spectacular video and sound show projected onto a towering recreation of the Lighthouse of Alexandria, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The journey crescendos inside an extraordinary eight-metre-high cinematic projection room, where guests soar over the ancient city, witness Cleopatra’s coronation, pass through the Temple of Isis and the famed Library of Alexandria, and relive her alliances with Julius Caesar and Mark Antony before the dramatic Battle of Actium.
Finally, a full-motion virtual reality experience transports visitors beneath the Mediterranean to explore the submerged ruins of Alexandria and join the search for Cleopatra’s long-lost tomb — a fittingly powerful conclusion to a story that continues to fascinate historians and romantics alike.
Dr. Chris Naunton describes Cleopatra as “one of the most well-known characters from the ancient world,” noting that the exhibition “does a superb job of presenting the archaeological and historical evidence in a way that transports the visitor to the Egypt of her time.”
Having already captivated more than 200,000 visitors in Madrid, the exhibition is expected to draw significant attention during its London residency — and it is easy to see why.
Whether you are a history enthusiast, a lover of culture, or simply searching for an enriching day out with family or friends, this is exactly the kind of experience we find ourselves recommending. Educational yet entertaining, immersive yet informative — it strikes that rare balance that makes learning feel like an adventure.
Located just 12 minutes from Central London via the Elizabeth Line, Immerse LDN is easily accessible, making this an effortless addition to a spring cultural itinerary.
Tickets go on general sale from 17th February 2026, with prices starting at £25 for adults and £20 for children. If this sounds like your kind of outing, it may be worth joining the waitlist for pre-sale access — exhibitions of this scale rarely stay quiet for long.
One thing feels certain: Cleopatra’s story has endured for over two millennia, and this new experience looks set to ensure her legend continues to captivate a whole new generation.
