Phantom Peak Looks Ahead to a New Chapter at Westfield Stratford City

Phantom Peak Looks Ahead to a New Chapter at Westfield Stratford City – Phantom Peak, London’s much-loved open-world immersive experience, has announced that it will open a new, expanded home at Westfield Stratford City in summer 2026 — marking a thoughtful new chapter in its ongoing story.

Since first opening in Canada Water in 2022, Phantom Peak has quietly built a loyal following. More than 160,000 people have stepped into its curious, ever-evolving world, with many returning time and again to uncover new storylines, characters and hidden details. That sense of discovery — and the invitation to slow down, play and become part of a shared narrative — has earned Phantom Peak widespread recognition, including multiple Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice Awards and international acclaim within the immersive arts space.

For those unfamiliar with the experience, Phantom Peak offers something refreshingly different. Visitors are invited into a fully realised town populated by eccentric characters, unfolding mysteries and playful challenges. There’s no fixed route or single way to experience it; instead, guests are encouraged to explore at their own pace, follow their curiosity and engage as much — or as little — as they choose. With the story evolving every few months, each visit feels distinct, rewarding repeat visits and shared moments of surprise.

The move to Westfield Stratford City will allow Phantom Peak to grow both physically and creatively. The new, fully accessible, multi-level venue will introduce three interconnected areas, each with its own atmosphere and story:

  • Old Town, an industrial underground district that reflects the town’s working past
  • The Town Square, a lively central hub with layered buildings, the Town Hall and the in-world Thirsty Frontier Saloon
  • Lakeside, a calm and visually striking new setting built around an indoor lake and working water wheel

Together, these spaces are designed to deepen immersion, offering visitors more room to wander, linger and connect with the world around them. New characters and subtle technological enhancements will support storytelling in ways that feel natural rather than overwhelming, helping moments of magic unfold unexpectedly.

Technology will continue to play a supporting role rather than taking centre stage. New “wingman” units, developed by Tandem Set & Scenery, allow performers to gently activate lighting, sound and physical effects in response to live interactions, creating moments that feel personal and quietly enchanting rather than scripted.

The arrival experience itself will also be reimagined, offering a more gradual transition from the everyday into Phantom Peak’s fictional world. A new tiered entry system includes an optional VIP journey via a themed train carriage, while other guests enter through Old Town as the town slowly comes to life around them.

Outside of the main experience, the venue will feature a fully themed bar open throughout the week — a place to pause, meet friends, enjoy food and drinks, or simply soak up the atmosphere, whether or not you’re stepping into the story that day.

The expanded space will also allow Phantom Peak to host a wider range of private and group visits, from small gatherings to larger celebrations, offering an alternative way for people to connect through shared play and storytelling.

This next chapter has been supported by new investment into The League of Adventure, the creative group behind Phantom Peak, bringing together set design, storytelling and performance under one umbrella. With experienced leadership guiding the transition, the focus remains on craft, creativity and the human experience at the heart of immersive theatre.

Phantom Peak’s Canada Water location will close on 28 February after 625 performances, drawing a fond line under a chapter that helped redefine immersive entertainment in London. The new Phantom Peak at Westfield Stratford City is set to open in summer 2026.
