Celebrate Moon Festival Magic at The Ivy Asia

Celebrate Moon Festival Magic at The Ivy Asia – There are some restaurants that instantly transport you somewhere else the moment you step through the door – and for me, The Ivy Asia has always been one of those places. Every visit is a feast not just for the taste buds, but for the senses: the glowing interiors, vibrant décor, and beautifully presented dishes all combine to create something truly unforgettable. Having enjoyed their food on previous occasions, I can confidently say that when The Ivy Asia announces a special celebration, it’s an experience worth marking in the diary.

Celebrate Moon Festival Magic at The Ivy Asia

This autumn, they are embracing one of Asia’s most enchanting traditions – the Moon Festival, also known as the Mid-Autumn Festival. Running from 16th September to 24th October, diners are invited to celebrate unity, prosperity, and joy in a setting of colour, light, and theatrical flair.

Lanterns – long regarded as symbols of hope, fortune, and illumination – will transform the restaurant into a glowing wonderland, while weekends promise immersive live music and DJ sets to heighten the celebratory atmosphere.

But let’s be honest, the real star is always the food. Presented on a dramatic three-tier tray, complete with cascading dry ice, the Moon Festival Afternoon Tea (£33.95pp) is a luxurious twist on the traditional. Savoury delights include Aromatic Duck Spring Rolls, Sesame-crusted Prawn Dumplings, and Steamed Vegetable Bao Buns with Yakiniku sauce – flavours I can already imagine lingering long after the last bite, just as they have on my previous visits.

And then come the sweets. Inspired by the festival’s most iconic flavours, guests can indulge in Red Lantern Chocolate Choux Buns, Yuzu & Honeycomb Cheesecake, and even a delicate Mini White Lotus. For me, The Ivy Asia has always mastered that perfect balance of rich flavours with stunning presentation – every dish feels like both a treat and a work of art.

For those wishing to add extra sparkle, the menu can be elevated to a Champagne Afternoon Tea (£43.95pp) or paired with three exclusive festival cocktails. From the refreshing Elderflower Eclipse to the celebratory Celestial Spark and the golden warmth of the Golden Moon, the drinks alone promise to be worth raising a glass to.

With locations across London – including St Paul’s, Chelsea, and Mayfair – as well as Manchester, Leeds, Guildford, Brighton, and Cardiff, The Ivy Asia has become a destination for dining with flair. If, like me, you enjoy food that excites both your palate and your imagination, this is a celebration not to miss.

So, this season, gather friends, step beneath the lanterns, and let The Ivy Asia serve up a little moonlit magic.
