Alone In The Universe – Jeff Lynne’s ELO
It’s been 14 years since the last ELO release but fans of the band will not be disappointed by the latest album, Alone In The Universe.

Opening with the nostalgic, When I Was A Boy, Lynne clearly demonstrates that he has lost none of his song writing skills and the album follows up with a generally balanced, canon of tracks that would sit comfortably alongside any of the band’s earlier work.

Other stand-outs include Love And Rain, which sounds like Showdown for the new millennium and All My Life – an ELO ballad that sits up there with the best the band has ever produced.

Alone In The Universe is out now on CD and digital download.

Minions (U)
Starting as single-celled yellow organisms, Minions evolve through the ages, perpetually serving the most despicable of masters. Continuously unsuccessful at keeping these masters — from T.Rex to Napoleon — the Minions find themselves without someone to serve and fall into a deep depression.

But one Minion named Kevin has a plan, and he — alongside teenage rebel Stuart and lovable little Bob — ventures out into the world to find a new evil boss for his brethren to follow. The trio embarks upon a thrilling journey that ultimately leads them to their next potential master, Scarlet Overkill, the world’s first-ever female super-villain. They travel from frigid Antarctica to 1960s New York City, ending in mod London, where they must face their biggest challenge to date: saving all of “Minionkind” from annihilation.

Minions is no classic movie but it is funny and will keep the young ones – and a few adults – entertained. It’s anarchic sense of fun

Minions is out now on Blu Ray, 3D Blu Ray, DVD and digital download.

Fallout 4 (18)
As the sole survivor of Vault 111, you enter a world destroyed by nuclear war. Every second is a fight for survival, and every choice is yours. Only you can rebuild and determine the fate of the Wasteland. Welcome home.

Fallout 4 is an impressive release from Bethesda Studios. Introducing a bigger, more immersive world for gamers to explore and reside in, this title is the pinnacle of the series to date and delivers everything fans could have hoped for – and a whole lot more!

It may have a few graphical anomalies on the console versions but we’re hopeful that future software updates may rectify these and they are only minor distractions that don’t detract from the overall enjoyment.

If you purchase only one RPG this Christmas, make it Fallout 4. You won’t be disappointed.

Fallout 4 is out now on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider (18)
Lara Croft has gone through a number of makeovers since she made her debut on the original PS console, almost two decades ago but over this time she has in the main delivered a consistent and enjoyable game, on whatever platform.

Rise Of The Tomb Raider sees us introduced to a young Lara Croft, barely out of her teens., as she sets out on her first adventure in search of a hidden city.

Graphically this is a beautiful looking game, with visuals that show off the Xbox One’s potential. As an exclusive to Microsoft (the title is also released on the 360) it is certainly a game worth having and an absent hit from the PS4 devotees this Christmas. Lara is due to make an appearance on Sony’s platform but not until mid-2016.

Until then, the Xbox One is the only place to enjoy the latest Tomb Raider experience and a very satisfying one it is!

Rise Of The Tomb Raider is out now on Xbox One and Xbox 360.
