It’s a world of innocence and wonder, encouraging children to unleash their imaginations and revel in the descriptions and pictures of enchanted gardens and even a miniature world in a tree inhabited by an old lady who was once the Queen of the Little Tree People. Little ones will be entranced by the fascinating illustrations that are brimming with tiny details and surprises that children will love to explore.
Kindness and respect
The book’s storyline encourages children to recognise the significance of the beauty and serenity of natural habitats and wildlife – and how much they have to offer us.
Lady Bluebell’s world is imbued with kindness and respect for all, which radiates from every page of the book, helping to teach children to nurture and appreciate all living things… and most importantly to believe in themselves and what they can achieve as their futures unfold.
Additionally, the reader is encouraged to actively participate in the sentiment and basics of biodiversity by creating their own beautiful wild bird haven and some tasty wild bird food, planting sunflowers in their gardens, and painting their own colour wheel to learn about the Law of Colour.
Many years of inspiration
Lady Bluebell And Her Magical Gardens is the culmination of many years of appreciation of nature and encompasses the experiences of Teresa Biddle as she has navigated her way through life’s ups and downs.
When Teresa was a small child, she lived in an orphanage called The Ark, where she learned to respect and love the animal kingdom and all its beauty.
She started painting the book’s illustrations as an adult, while living in Pennsylvania USA – and continued when she returned to her native England.
Throughout it, all, the magical dreams, concepts, and characters of Lady Bluebell’s wonderful world have sustained Teresa and been a constant thread throughout her life.
The thoughtful illustrations in this beautiful book cover the entirety of those years. Teresa has enhanced her watercolour skills over time, embracing her inner child to create magical, detailed scenes and vividly painted characters like Dame Duck and her husband Sir Waddle Duck, Lady Otterly, King Rat and Peaches the kitten – who will speak to the hearts of everyone, young and old alike.
It’s never too soon to start reading to little ones!
Lady Bluebell And Her Magical Gardens give parents, grandparents and carers the perfect opportunity to sit down and spend relaxed, absorbing time with their charges. Its pages are a precious route by which to share magical adventures with colourful characters… and the natural world that’s so beneficial to them in so many ways.
“Reading together ignites creativity, sparks curiosity and stimulates the imagination in young children, fostering a love of reading and sharing stories – that can go on to give them a lifetime of joy… and a safe haven from the rigours of daily life,” says Teresa.
The uplifting and truly wondrous world of Lady Bluebell – where kindness, true friendship and respect surpass everything certainly does all of this and is set to become a firm family favourite this Christmas, and beyond.
