Goji Berries

Goji berries are fast becoming the next big health craze and their sudden huge popularity has made them a global phenomenon almost overnight.

Hollywood (never one to shy away from a fad!) has become obsessed with the fruit and its apparent anti-aging properties have seen health-obsessed celebrities stocking up on the product in huge volumes.

Looking like a cross between a raisin and a dried cranberry, the Goji berry has been part of the Himalayan diet for hundreds of years and is known by many in China as the “happy berry”.

An antidote to aging, a boost for virility, a food weapon against cellulite and a mood stimulant are just a few of the properties attributed to this amazing fruit.

And careful investigation of the product lends itself to the belief that for once the hype could be real.

Studies have shown that Goji Berry are said to be jam-packed with more vitamins and minerals than any other fruit. In just about 10 to 30 grams per serving, the Goji Berry is said to have more iron than meat, more beta-carotene than carrots and more ascorbic acid than any other citrus fruit. And check this out, the Himalayan Goji Berry , has earned the accolade as an energizer, libido booster, and fat burner.

Himalayan Goji Berries in general are known to be potent antioxidants that cleanse the body by eliminating toxins and other harmful substances that often cause heart disease and cancer. They are also known to have immune-system-boosting properties that protect us from allergies, cough, colds, and other immuno-suppression-caused diseases. Goji Berries also have anti-aging properties that protect the skin fro the harmful effects of sunlight and other chemicals.
