Legendary vibraphonist Roy Ayers, who turns 70 this year, makes a welcome return to Ronnie Scotts after a 5 year hiatus. One of the leading jazz vibraphone players of the 60s, then an R&B bandleader in the 1970s and '80s, Ayers is widely credited with ‘rare groove’ and his popularity within hip-hop circles has seen his music sampled by the likes of P Diddy, The Roots and A Tribe Called Quest. Featuring Roy Ayers on vibes, John Pressley on backing vocals, Mark Adams on piano, Donald Nicks on bass guitar, Ray Gaskins on saxophone and Troy Miller on drums.
