Spiritually Driven

Fleur has been named one of the Best Mediums in Los Angeles by CBS and LA Magazine. Her innate ability to directly communicate with loved ones “in spirit” has connected countless families from all around the world. Additionally, In her home location of Los Angeles she has become largely sought after in the entertainment industry; doing readings for well known A-list musicians, singers, actors and politicians.

George R Vaughan sat down with her to get a better understanding of the “other” world she works in.

How did you first get into this field?
“Although I knew I was a medium from a very young age, I had never considered the possibility of sharing this with others until I was in college. While I was attending UCLA, I gave my first readings and they were life changing for people. When those I had read for told me how much it had helped them, I knew it was something I needed to keep doing. When I graduated, I loved connecting people to their loved ones so much that I decided to make it my life’s work.”

When did you realize you had the ability to speak to the OT?
“I’ve been speaking to people on the other side since before I could talk. This was my reality and completely normal to me, I thought everyone could see what I saw! It wasn’t until my parents took surprised notice by the people I spoke of, and the detailed information I provided, that they realized I was connecting to specific people in the spirit world.”

What do you believes happens after death?
“It is my belief that when we lose our physical bodies, our soul continues on. When we cross over, we are met by our loved ones who have gone before us. From the other side we are able to see and communicate with those we leave behind in the physical world. I also believe we are our ‘best’ selves on the other side: free of addiction, fears, and pain. Those I speak to on the other side will often acknowledge being free of negative emotions or beliefs they held when they were here, and they always speak of being happy.”

Do you fear death?
“I don’t fear what comes after death, as I know the soul never passes. My work reminds me every day that there is something greater than ourselves and that is very comforting.”

Have these abilities changed your outlook on life?
“Absolutely! It has brought a lot of peace in my own life. I was such a worry-wart. This work has taught to me let go and focus on the big picture. It’s impossible to sweat the small stuff when I am witnessing beautiful reunions between people and their loved ones on the other side everyday. Sometimes I forget, and when that happens all I have to do is go to work and be reminded of that our loved ones are always watching over us. I know that there are helpers, and we can always turn to them for guidance.”

Do you think the western world’s move towards technology and science has distanced us from the spirit world?
“I believe science can be a powerful tool. It depends on how it is used. I have encountered many scientists who share my beliefs and acknowledge that there is so much that is unexplained. Technology can certainly keep our minds busy and keep us from the silence and reflection that are an important part of connecting to our intuition and inner wisdom. That is hard to do when we are so focused on our devices.”

Why do people come to you and how can you help them?
“There are countless reasons for why people seek me out to speak to their loved ones in spirit. Most people are looking for closure or just want to say hello. No matter the reason, I feel so lucky to be their intermediary. It is always a beautiful experience.”

How would you respond to your critics?
“I encounter sceptics all the time! And, I don’t mind working with them. I think it’s important to have healthy scepticism. It is very valuable when people allow their own experiences to shape their beliefs.”

Are you able to switch off your abilities?
“Yes, I am able to switch my abilities on and off. I never approach strangers in public because I find that people have to be emotionally ready for a reading. I also like having an ‘off’ button so that I can enjoy spending time with friends and family without getting interrupted by those in spirit giving their two cents!”

What’s your star sign?
“I’m a Gemini!”

What do you do in your spare time?
“I love to go salsa dancing, I enjoy walking to the beach with my little dog, and I like chatting with friends over coffee.”

Do you have any interests or hobbies?
“Painting, meditation, and yoga really rejuvenate me. I also love playing the violin and diving into a good book. I’m currently learning how to surf, but I am still very much in the beginner stages. I’m afraid I won’t be showing off my surfing skills anytime soon, but being in the water is one of the greatest feelings in the world!”
