Celtic Tree Astrology

Celtic Tree Astrology – Irish Astrology also referred to as Celtic Tree Astrology, is the astrological system practised by the ancient Irish based on an ancient Celtic symbol system.

Originally it is thought the system was created by the Druids sometime around 1000 BC and is based on the cycles of the moon.

In Celtic astrology, the zodiac is based on the trees that the Druids held sacred. It was believed that the trees themselves expressed personal characteristics that could then be associated with particular months of the year.

The Celtic year consists of thirteen lunar months, representing the cycles of the moon. And each lunar month was linked to one of the sacred Celtic trees in accordance with its magical properties.

From there, the druids derived a Shamanic alphabet, known as the Ogham.

However, the Celtic zodiac isn’t confined solely to the lunar cycle. The Druids split their years into 2 halves: the dark half and the light half to represent the recurring cycle of birth, life, death, and rebirth. As a result, the Druids developed a zodiac rooted in both the lunar and solar cycles of life.

Celtic druids also noticed that when a child is born in a certain month of their “tree calendar”, it would develop certain qualities. See if they match yours from the list below.
