The Large Ecocook Fry Pan with a lid
Ecocook Pan Set
I have learned to accept that, whatever non-stick pots and pans I buy, given time the non-stick black coating will start to come off. Then, much as I hate to, I’m forced to discard my favorites because if I don’t I can expect black specked scrambled eggs or a steak with medium pan coating, not the healthiest of options.
To avoid this premature separation of man and pan, Premier Housewares have developed Ecocook, an attractive range of aluminum cookware and bakeware with an environmentally-friendly uniquely white, non-stick internal coating, made from minerals with exceptional hardness and durability.
The ceramic material has high heat resistance and can withstand temperatures of up to 280 degrees centigrade and it will not scratch, blister, peel or break down over time.
When compared to traditional non-sticks made from plastic it is free from PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) and PFOA (Perfluorooctanoic acid), the two synthetic substances that play a major part in the creation of the majority of non-stick pots and pans on the market today. When heated at high temperatures they may release toxic chemicals into our food, bodies and the environment, which some have linked to cancer and other harmful health effects.
A recent study claimed that 90% of people have traces of PTFE in their blood and another suggested that children exposed to PFOA may have weakened immune systems, making it more difficult for their bodies to fight off infection and disease.
Being free from the two synthetic substances the Ecocook range will not release harmful toxins when heated at high temperatures.
The red-coated aluminum bodies of all the Ecocook products act as super-efficient thermal conductors, effectively reducing cooking time and saving energy.
Tough and durable, Ecocook cookware is super lightweight and functional, with well-designed stay cool handles that are comfortable to hold and the clear lids mean you can keep an eye on things on the hob.
I was also happy to discover the need for less oil when cooking, particularly frying, which was an additional healthy bonus. The superior non-stick surfaces make for effortless cleaning too and, with little time for household tasks for many of us, the range is dishwasher safe.
The pans are suitable for gas, electric and halogen hobs and with prices starting at just £7.49 suit all budgets.
