Think of romance and you are often drawn towards thoughts of poets and writers, heroes and sportsman. To be honest, builders are probably the last people that come to mind.
However, Casa Parisi came to us with some top tips for ensuring that your bedroom keeps that romantic look and feel throughout the year. After all, love is forever not just for Valentine’s Day.
Take a quick glance through to see how to keep that spark bright alive!
1. Get rid of any televisions you might have. They are an unnecessary distraction and since your bedroom is primarily for sleep and intimacy, have no place. If you want to watch TV then do it in the living room.
2. Ensure you have a place for everything – no clothes lying around the room as it shatters the illusion. Plenty of wardrobe space is therefore a premium requirement. Whether it’s fitted units or stand-alones, just make sure that socks and panties are tucked away and not on the floor.
3. If you don’t have an en-suite bathroom then think about one. Even the most compact rooms can often accommodate a shower and basin and it helps ensure that when you close your door on the world outside your bedroom, you need no venture out again till morning.
4. Lighting is a great way to enhance mood and atmosphere. Soft lighting and bedside lamps also help keep the glow warm and are non-intrusive. A dimmer switch can be a cheap and easy way to employ this feature.
5. Avoid dark colours and anything that “robs” a room of its sense of space and “openness”.
6. Curtains are often a better alternative to blinds when it comes to mood and atmosphere.
7. Flowers in the room are always a winner. They bring a sense of natural freshness and a connection with nature that artificial sprays simply cannot replicate.
8. Mirrors bring depth and the illusion of greater space and more light into aroom.
