Working Mum on the Run!
Andrea McCluskey & Molly
Red Kooga Natural Energy Release
Wedding Cake
Andrea McCluskey, 31 runs her own business Eight Day Events specialising in cupcakes, cookies and chocolate fountains and lives in Warrington, nr Manchester with her husband and one year old daughter.
‘As a busy working mum, I’ve been asked by Red Kooga to diary my hectic lifestyle for the next few weeks. They’ve also asked me to try their new Red Kooga Natural Energy Release range and tell them what I think of it.’
So a bit about me!
Well, I would class myself as having a hectic life, even if my husband thinks I lunch all day! It is a good thing women were born to multi-task as my week is normally juggling Jo Jingles music group, baking cookies and cakes and attending functions with my business! I choose to run my own business so I can have a more flexible, balanced working life. My main driver is spending more quality time with my daughter while still earning money and holding onto my independence. However, as flexible as my working life is, I agree with Red Kooga’s recent research of British ladies, that I need at least 28 hours in a day to get everything done!
Well over the next month or so I will be incorporating taking Red Kooga’s Natural Release supplement into my daily life to try and give me the extra energy needed to maximise my days.

Andrea's final blog 25th July 2010
Another busy weekend with chocolate fountains, we attended weddings at Mere Golf & Country Club and The Saddleworth Hotel which are both lovely venues, both nights I arrived home quite late, I also made a beautiful christening cake to make this week. phewwww!
Plus, not one for leaving it at that, I completed another 10k run at Leigh sports village on Sunday, and hoped to beat my first 10k time and I did it!!!!Training this week with my husband helped but I am convinced that Red Kooga got me through it. I had a Red Kooga natural energy release about 1 hour before my run and it really did help me so I have to recommend to others, if you feel tired and need that little extra boost to go that extra mile (literally) it makes a big difference. I will continue to take Red Kooga whenever I need that extra boost, which is quite frequently!!
Goodbye for now.
Week 4
The last few days have been quite relaxing really compared to my last few blog posts. I had a lovely night away at a friend's house with my husband and daughter in tow. We all stayed up late chatting and catching up as we hadn't seen each other for a long time. We played volleyball in the garden, had a lovely BBQ and I enjoyed a few glasses of wine. Before we knew it it was nearly 3am!!!!! (Women catching up can last all night) We awoke to the sounds of ma ma ma ma ma ma I looked at my watch and it was 5.30am I could not believe it and when she wakes she is wide awake. Red Kooga was my only lifeline here as there was no way I was going to get back to sleep.
I made a lovely chocolate wedding cake this week full of fresh berries and this weekend I am doing 2 chocolate fountains milk & white at Tatton Park, a beautiful venue in Cheshire so I'm looking forward to that.
Finally, I had my life coaching session with Rebekah Fensome which was great she really helped my re focus on my life and gave me some fantastic tips to manage my time better as I never feel I have enough.
Bye for now.
Weekend 3rd and 4th July - Week 3
It’s been a busy weekend again I am so glad I’m having a night off tonight! This weekend I attended a wedding celebration at Chatsworth House in Derbyshire. The wedding room was in the stables (no horses!) and looked amazing, the couple had a real fairytale wedding. Pink hanging bird cages from fantastic flower arrangements and they even had pink doughnuts on the table. We went along with two chocolate fountains, one white and one milk chocolate, pink flowers to decorate the surrounds of course! The couple even had an ice sculpture with their table plan frozen inside, a 5 tier chocolate cake, cheeses stacked as a cake and a magician…… the list goes on! Phew. Some couples really go to town with their celebrations.
Plus no rest for the wicked….I did a lovely tower of cupcakes on Saturday for a wedding reception with vanilla fluffy frostings and hand made butterflies covered in glitter and Sunday was a 12th birthday party in Manchester town centre in a night club with fun dancers teaching routines to the kids who had a great time. They were all so well behaved near the chocolate fountain but kept me very busy, kids plus chocolate equals overconsumption!! This week I am cooking in the nursery again so trying to keep focused on my business in between the little ones sleeps. I have a night out with the girls on Saturday so the hard work will all be worth it, I can’t remember the last time I went out with the girls I get so very busy at this time of year so I can’t wait.
Never a dull moment with children! My daughter recovered from her fever and she seemed to be getting back to herself when she suddenly developed a rash all over her body. I have a really food friend who is a paediatric nurse so we took her along to the hospital. The couldn’t decide whether it was measles (even though she has had her first dose of MMR), which of course had me a little worried but in the end it was a rash that can sometimes appear after a virus so that was a huge relief to the family.
I don’t know how I do it. I do know that Red Kooga Natural Energy Release really picks me up when I know I cannot slow down. I am glad I discovered it.
Fountains & Fever! - Week 2
Well it’s been a busy few days as Prom season is here and I get asked to attend them year after year with our chocolate fountains. Thursday and Friday I was in North Wales attending a couple of proms, they really do go to town nowadays with the outfits. The girls hire huge ball gowns and their hair and make up is perfect, they must plan months in advance. The schools also put so much effort into the venue and decoration to make it special for them, they all arrived in limousines and one group arrived in a fire engine with the sirens blaring, I rushed outside as I thought there was a fire!!! Then I finished my weekend with a lovely wedding chocolate fountain it was really busy I have to say there are more and more chocoholics coming out of the woodwork.
Over the past few days my daughter has had a high temperature due to a fever so she has been a little out of sorts, I arrived home late one night to find she had been very sick, my husband is great when anything like this happens , he’s calm I’m panicky! As a mum I think you go into real protective mode, perhaps that is a motherly instinct to be on red alert most of the time! Anyway, on Sunday night I decided to spend the night on Molly’s floor by her cot just in case she was sick again, you probably think I’m over-protective but any mums reading this I’m sure you’ve been there before now!!! It’s a good job I take my Red Kooga Energy Release supplements as I would have matchsticks in my eyes whilst typing this if I didn’t.
I have another busy week ahead with cupcakes, being a chef at a nursery and a chocolate fountain at Chatsworth House so will post a picture on my next post for you. Plus heard Red Kooga’s advert on KEY 103 on Monday morning, very catchy!
My weekend – 18th/19th June 2010 - Week 1
A busy weekend but a sunny one so that helps! Saturday was all about paddling pools, baking cookies and preparing for a chocolate fountain function in the evening. I have about 15 things to think about at once so I try and focus on whatever I am doing at the time. Saturday was one of those days but I consciously took time to play with Molly in the back garden without thinking about how many strawberries I needed to buy for the evening! ‘Be here now’ as they say. Then my handmade cookies were delivered to the wedding (always satisfying as they are always so appreciated) and off I went to my chocolate fountain function in Bolton. It didn’t end until 11pm so I was very pleased to see my bed!
On Sunday I completed the Cancer Research UK Race for Life at Tatton Park. I decided to do the 10k run (instead of 5k) and was very proud that I completed it without stopping to walk. I felt a great sense of achievement and was pleased to be part of a big group of women all taking part in such a worthwhile cause. So well done to everyone! Then it was off to a family bbq, which meant more running around but this time after my little girl. I watched her on slides and in a paddling pool and wished there was an adult version of each so I could join in the fun!
Verdict:
Red Kooga’s Natural Release supplement gives me an instant boost that endures and it certainly helped me overcome my tiredness on the Saturday evening and enabled me complete my 10k run on the Sunday woo hoo!
